After experiencing for myself the profound benefits of over 15 years of personal yoga practice (classical Hatha and Iyengar in style), I undertook my first teacher training with Dr Elena Voyce, a yogini renowned for her anatomical insight and precision. I knew from the start that my ‘dharma’, or unique sense of purpose, lay in teaching one to one.
It is my intent that my students are equipped with the skills to develop and grow their own yoga practice with increasing levels of awareness and inspiration. I teach across the broad spectrum of the yoga tradition hand-picking and seamlessly combining those aspects which will most assist my students reach their personal goals. I am blessed to have been teaching students one to one since 2012.
The ancient roots of yoga lie in the one to one relationship between student and teacher and this is how I choose to teach. I believe that a nurturing relationship between teacher and student characterized by clarity, empathy and kindness is essential to this tradition and best supports your growth.
One to one classes also allow the freedom to design, pace and schedule a session around you.
If modified to suit the individual yoga may be both accessible and beneficial to most people. Broadly speaking those who spend the greater part of their day seated at a computer, athletes who favour certain muscle groups or engage in repetitive actions and new mums are all examples of people who can benefit from the increased muscular balance and postural support gained through the intelligent practice of yoga.
