Who yoga is good for

If modified to suit the individual yoga may be both accessible and beneficial to most people. As with any new physical endeavour those with ongoing or recent injury or illness should consult with their healthcare provider beforehand.

Examples of students whom I have enjoyed working with include city executives looking for ways to better handle stress, artists looking for a sense of stability, entrepreneurs needing deep rest, intellectuals wanting to re connect to their bodies, therapists needing nurturing themselves and those going through physical and emotional times of transition such as menopause, pregnancy and grief.

Broadly speaking those who spend the greater part of their day seated at a computer, athletes who favour certain muscle groups or engage in repetitive actions and new mums are all examples of people who can benefit from the increased muscular balance and postural support gained through the intelligent practice of yoga.

Kind words

…work was really stressful last week, but it just didn’t affect me in the same way.
