Why one to one

The ancient roots of yoga lie in the one to one relationship between student and teacher and this is how I choose to teach. I believe that a nurturing relationship between teacher and student characterized by clarity, empathy and kindness is essential to this tradition and best supports your growth.

One to one classes also allow the freedom to design, pace and schedule a session around you. Like a snowflake or a fingerprint each one of us is unique and so are our needs. Fortunately, yoga offers an array of practices which can be sensitively sequenced and integrated to best meet you where you are.

I also find that my students often feel more comfortable voicing their impressions or asking the important questions (which help to guide their practice) than they would in a group environment. They are also free to explore the sensations and insights they experience at their own pace.

My students also often note how much more they have learned not only about the yoga practice but also themselves following a one to one session. Frequently the initial uncertainty about ‘doing it right’ gives way to growing sense of confidence and connection to their own experience.

Kind words

…the quiet, meditative times I had with you were so beneficial to my life.
