What to expect

Your class will often feature a combination of practices including simple classical asana, pranayama (breathing practices), and supported relaxation. As your practice grows additional elements such as focussed intention, visualization and meditation will often be included to help you experience the full body/mind benefits of yoga.

The following benefits are often experienced:

  • Relief from muscular tension creating a sense of lightness and ease in the body and mind
  • Greater postural support maintaining that sense of ease and building con dence
  • Greater connection to the body, feeling whole, grounded and secure in yourself
  • Improved patterns of movement, moving with greater ease, grace and efficiency
  • Better connection to the breath, learning to breathe more expansively and efficiently and use the breath as tool to calm, energize or simply get to sleep
  • A growing sense of clarity, equanimity and mental ‘space’ emerge. This often affects the way in which you interact with life, improving your relationships for example, and creating a general sense of resilience to life’s ups and downs.
  • Your ability to focus and maintain that focus deepens, not just during meditation but in your daily life too. It becomes that much easier to get down to the things you need and want to do.
  • Moments of insight, inspiration and ‘inner wisdom’ often emerge on and o the mat – this when yoga becomes truly transformational.

Kind words

…I have learned so much quicker than I would have.
